My life alternates between soul-crushing boredom and sheer terror. As sure as the day follows the night, I can expect to be entrenched in a multitude of immediate and ruthlessly demanding responsibilities for the rest of my foreseeable existence, to awaking in a world so void of a need for my attention I am forced to regularly relearn what it means to have "spare time." These things can and do include such entities as four children (no wife, but they were all produced by the same woman that was once my wife), the last semesters of my bachelor's degree (I took the scenic route through college), teaching the lab side of the introductory course to computer science (It's all "for" loops), and the occasional book.
